SEASON CONCERTS & TOURING PROGRAM: To present concerts that showcase diverse music and cultural traditions from Africa. Touring groups from Africa scheduled every season at a concert hall or in a school near you. Our performing ensemble, Songs of Africa Ensemble, is a multicultural group of experienced musicians who devoted themselves to promoting choral and contemporary music from Africa and African-diaspora. AFRICAN MUSIC FOR COMMUNITY HEALING: programs presented to residents at nursing homes and other assisted-living facilities.

AFRICAN CHORAL MUSIC WORKSHOPS: This internationally acclaimed program trains singers and choral directors to perform music from Songs of Africa book and octavo editions edited by Fred Onovwerosuoke and published by Oxford University Press. The sessions are conducted by Fred Onovwerosuoke or other visiting instructor(s). Resident dance and percussion master, Cheif Bokulaka also runs weekly classes at our office building or in schools and at other community centers.

VOICE OF AFRICAN MUSIC NEWSLETTER: Our quarterly newsletter now published exclusively online now attracts over 100,000 readership monthly, and is referenced in many publications and educational institutions, worldwide. To subscribe to the hardcopy of our quarterly newsletter click here.

SYMPOSIA & MUSIC FESTIVALS: We now run two major events annually, hosting the National Intercultural Choral Workshops in the fall and the Intercultural Music Initiative Festival in the spring. Online information at

Volunteer Opportunities
We rely on hundreds of volunteers who graciously give of their time and expertise to African Musical Arts programs. Internships are also available for high school and college students. As a volunteer you contribute or gain expertise in general database management, desktop and web publishing, creating sheet music, concert promotion and management, board development and other areas of general operations.
